This exciting new project is a great way to develop and nurture your creative skills under the guidance of artists in residence based in Wirral libraries. Starting early September 2018 on various dates and times, with sessions using many different types of artistic skills. The scheme is largely financed mainly by Arts Council England. Wirral Arts Festival

The Secret Gardens of Oxton

International Guitar Festival of Great Britain
The International Guitar Festival will be celebrating its 30th year, with a month long celebration of this versatile and much loved instrument.
Wirral Open Studio Tour
9 & 10 June 2018 (10am - 5pm)
More than 60 local artists will open the doors to their studios, workshops and display spaces and are on-hand to discuss their work, which includes painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textiles and jewellery.

The Leverhulme Grand Prix
22 July 2018
Over 100 cyclists compete in a series of races in Birkenhead Park, as the Wirral plays host to high-class professional cycle racing for the first time in over half a century. There will be lots of on offer for the whole family including food and drink, musical entertainment and fun activities and demonstrations for all ages. The event is free for spectators and there is so much more than cycle racing on offer throughout the day!

Be in Birkenhead Festival 2018

This free one-day family festival returns in July to take over the iconic Hamilton Square in Birkenhead. Showcasing some of Wirral’s best small businesses it offers a fun filled day with entertainment, stalls, shows, tours and talks plus fairground attractions and a meet and greet with our local emergency services. 11 - 12 August
Six huge structures built entirely from cardboard, tape and community spirit will be constructed in public places across each of the six boroughs in Liverpool City Region this summer. The concept is the brainchild of French artist Olivier Grossetȇte and is the first creative project to take place across the entire city region.
14 July - 25 August 2018
This landmark exhibition brings together photographs of New Brighton by internationally renowned photographers Martin Parr, Tom Wood and Ken Grant. It is the first time their images taken in the resort will be shown together, with their photographs exploring moments in New Brighton life from the late 1970s to the end of the 1990s.
One Wirral 2018
18 August 2018 (11am – 4pm)
One Wirral is a festival for the whole community, celebrating the diversity of Wirral and all the peninsula has to offer. It will bring together community groups from across the borough to Birkenhead Park to showcase talents and activities such as dance, drama and music, and will encourage people to find a new hobby or join a new group in their area.

Egremont Festival 2018

Heritage Open Days

Heritage Open Days celebrate the country’s outstanding architecture and culture by offering free access to properties, many of which are normally closed to the public or charge visitors for admission. Organised by the Wirral History & Heritage Association, it is Wirral’s biggest heritage event, aiming to give visitors and residents alike the chance to enjoy a rich variety of architecture, landscape and history. Wirral Earth Festival

Wirral Earth Festival returns for an exciting day of Earth and people friendly family activities. The festival, organised by Transition Town West Kirby, takes place at St Bridget's Church & Field, West Kirby and will feature excellent live music, storytelling, activities, stalls from local interest groups, food and drink and more!
