Step into the magic of Fantabulosa!, a pop-up world of imagination and storytelling where boundaries are forgotten and anyone can be forgotten and anyone can be whoever they want to be.

Join some of the UK's leading drag artists for an unmissable show featuring interactive storytelling, lipsync, dress-up, games, songs and a LOT of glitter!

Fantabulosa at Homotopia Festival is proudly supported by Wirral Borough of Culture.

Williamson Art Gallery and Museum

Saturday 30 November & Sunday 1 December

2019 marks the 16th annual Oxton Art Fair, with over twenty artists and designers exhibiting and selling their unique handmade work.

Painting, illustration, photography, craft, fashion and print making - all original pieces, and all affordable.

Alongside the fair, children’s activities will be taking place in the gallery each day.

Cammell Laird, Campbeltown Road, Birkenhead

To celebrate the ceremonial naming of the RRS Sir David Attenborough (Thursday 26 September 2019), British Antarctic Survey are bringing Antarctica and the Arctic to Cammel Laird's Birkenhead shipyard on Saturday 28 September 2019 and invite you to step into 'Ice Worlds' - an exciting festival of discovery.

The 10th Wirral Open Studio Tour takes place over the weekend of 8 - 9 June (10am-5pm), with some studios also open on Friday 7 June (6-9pm). This free event sees more than 60 artists across Wirral opening their studios to visitors.

The first ever Wirral Poetry Festival celebrates all kinds and varieties of poetry. It is a packed weekend starting off with a grand show by Roger McGough and Little Machine (10 May) in Westbourne Hall, West Kirby. Some other attractions include the free Big Poetry Variety Show at Birkenhead Town Hall with its unmissable line up of poets, community groups and performers (11 May). Star gazing is a unique poetry and music fusion event with innovative music by Izzy Ryder. The weekend finishes up with our first ever poetry slam Slam and Deliver! at West Kirby Arts Centre.

Coordinated by Wirral Council’s Parks and Countryside Service, the Wirral Walking Festival highlights the variety of walks that take place on the peninsula in May each year from short strolls around the Secret Gardens of Oxton to long distance treks like the Coast to Coast walk.

Birkenhead Town Hall

Saturday 9 March, 10am - 4pm | FREE entry

Discover Wirral's fascinating past with over 70 stalls from local heritage attractions and societies, including family history experts. See inside the Grade II* listed Birkenhead Town Hall and visit bookstalls selling new and second-hand books. Vintage vehicles in Hamilton Square and visits from costumed characters will bring history to life throughout the day. Organised by Wirral History & Heritage Association.

Lady Lever Art Gallery, Port Sunlight

Celebrating a unique, artistic partnership between illustrator Quentin Blake and children’s author John Yeoman, this exhibition will showcase more than 40 Quentin Blake works, including the beautiful illustrations featured in Yeoman’s magical storybooks.
