What is Wirral Food & Drink Festival?
Wirral Food & Drink Festival will bring together an abundance of local producers and celebrity chefs from Wirral and beyond for a two-day gastronomic experience in Birkenhead Park.
Where is Wirral Food & Drink Festival?
Wirral Food & Drink Festival is on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September at Birkenhead Park's Lower Park across from Birkenhead Park Visitor Centre.
Is Wirral Food & Drink Festival free to enter?
Yes. Simply turn up from 11am – 5pm on Saturday 7 & Sunday 8 September. No ticket purchase is necessary.
What clothing should I wear?
Please dress for the weather, bring appropriate footwear and clothing for an outdoor event, including warm clothing for the evening. Don’t forget to bring plenty of sunscreen if it’s sunny!
What happens if I lose my property?
Lost property can be collected from Birkenhead Park Visitor Centre which will be open throughout the day and in the evening.
What do I do if I hurt myself?
There is a First Aid point on Festival Field. If you need help finding this or would be unable to reach this, please look for a steward or member of staff for assistance.
Can I still get into Birkenhead Park over the weekend?
Yes, the Upper Park and large areas of the Lower Park will be unaffected by the weekend activities. Please be advised if you are coming to the event over the weekend, that cars can access Upper Park only.
During build days there will be some impact on Lower Park but access will be maintained as much as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
CHILDREN AND DOGS
Are there baby changing facilities?
Yes – Birkenhead Park Visitor Centre has baby changing facilities.
Is there a lost-child area?
The festival is a safe, family-friendly site with a dedicated welfare area on Festival Field. However, we must be clear children remain the responsibility of their parents and guardians and not the festival – please keep an eye on your little ones. The lost children meeting point is situated near the playground area.
Can I bring my dog?
During Wirral Food & Drink Festival, dogs are allowed but only on a lead. Please be a considerate owner and clean up after your pet. There may be crowds and loud noises, if you know your dog is sensitive to these we recommend you leave your pet at home. Please do not leave any dogs in cars.
TRANSPORT AND TRAVEL
Is there parking available?
Yes, there is parking available on a first come, first served basis in Birkenhead's Upper Park. There may be queues so please be patient. With Birkenhead Park train station and bus stops nearby, we would recommend using public transport to reach the event.
What public transport is available?
Train: Birkenhead Park train station is a short walk away from the Ashville Road entrance gate. Turn right onto Duke Street on exiting the station, continue straight, across Park Road North onto Ashville Road. The entrance gate will be clearly signposted.
